Privacy policy
What we collect when you visit cognitive-apps.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
This site is run by NAM Business Solutions LLC, a company in the United States that operates Cognitive Apps. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean NAM Business Solutions LLC. For any question about your information, email help@cognitive-apps.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Walkthrough requests. Your name, work email, company, and anything you write in the message box.
- Sign-in and access requests. Your email address and name, from your Google or Microsoft account or from the email and password you register with. We never see your password. If you request access, we also keep the name and company you enter.
- The customer portal. The support cases you open and the messages you write in them, with your name and email.
Information collected when you browse
- Visit counts (Plausible Analytics). On our public pages and the sign-in page we count visits with Plausible. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address. It records things like the page, the site that sent you, your browser, device type and country, and shows us only totals.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag.On our public pages only (never the sign-in page or the customer portal) we use LinkedIn’s tag to measure our LinkedIn ads and show them to people who visited. It sets cookies and sends LinkedIn the page you visited, your IP address, and browser and device details. LinkedIn tells us only totals, not who you are. If you are in Europe, the UK or Switzerland, it only runs after you press Accept.
- Security checks.Google reCAPTCHA checks that visitors are people, to block spam. It collects browser and device information and is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Fonts. Our pages load their typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which sees your IP address.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical details such as your IP address and the pages requested, to run and protect the site.
Why we use it
- To reply to your walkthrough request and talk with you about our product.
- To let you sign in, and to run the customer portal and answer your support cases.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam.
- To see which pages are useful (Plausible).
- To measure our LinkedIn ads and show them to past visitors (LinkedIn).
If you are in Europe or the UK, we rely on: the steps you asked us to take (replying to you, running the portal); our legitimate interest in a secure, working site; and your consent for the LinkedIn tag.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We use these companies to run the site, and they handle your information for us:
- Google — hosting, database, sign-in, reCAPTCHA, fonts, and the email our team receives when you request a walkthrough.
- Microsoft — only if you sign in with a Microsoft account.
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless visit counts (data policy).
- LinkedIn — the Insight Tag described above, which LinkedIn also uses under its own privacy policy.
We may also share information when the law requires it.
Cookies
- Needed for the site to work: keeping you signed in, the reCAPTCHA security check, and remembering your cookie choice.
- Advertising:LinkedIn’s cookies, on our public pages only. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland, only after you press Accept.
Wherever you are, you can turn the LinkedIn tag off or back on here. To remove cookies that are already set, clear them in your browser.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for it, so our site does not respond to it. You can use the button above to turn off the LinkedIn tag, or block cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep walkthrough requests, access requests and support cases for as long as we need them to work with you or your company, and we delete them when you ask. Plausible and LinkedIn keep their data under their own policies.
Your rights
Email help@cognitive-apps.com to ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. We will reply within one month.
If you are in Europe or the UK, you can also object to how we use your information, withdraw your consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States, and the companies listed above process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in Europe or the UK, this means your information is transferred to the United States.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
